The ultimate day trip to Tivoli from Rome!

Tivoli is a historic hilltown in the Lazio region of Italy, and when asked about day trips from Rome, Villa d’Este is a great day trip for anyone looking to leave the hustle and bustle of Rome. Just a half-hour’s drive from Rome, the town boasts the Renaissance-era Villa d’Este and the 1,850-year-old ruins of Hadrian’s villa.

Cobblestoned streets of Tivoli

Tivoli is situated on the Aniene river to the east of Rome, in the Monti Tiburtini hills where the climate is fresher than Rome’s. For this reason, the area was popular from ancient times onwards with Rome’s moneyed classes, who built summer retreats in the area.

Walk from the car parking to Villa d’Este gave a mesmerizing feeling of the village with its winding cobblestone streets and classic old town.

Where to Stay:

One of your biggest travel expenses and time-consuming tasks is booking accommodation, and we all want to save time and hopefully some money when searching for deals online.

Whilst there are plenty of websites these days to help you search for accommodation, some are more trustworthy than others, and some are easier to navigate than others.

1. Booking.com:

I’m sure you are already familiar with Booking.com, they are my all time favourite with lot of different types of accommodation you can book on their website: HotelsApartments, Resorts,  Villas,  B&B and Guesthouses.

In my opinion, not only are they are the best hotel booking site, but the best accommodation website.

And if the above options aren’t enough for your style or budget, you can even book Lodges, chalets, luxury tents, campsites and more.

2. AirBnb:

It is an online marketplace and hospitality service, enabling people to list or rent short-term lodging including vacation rentals, apartment rentals, homestays, hostel beds, or hotel rooms.

Unforgettable trips start with Airbnb.
